Product introduction
INNOPUR SEAL PU THIX-2K is a polyurethane-based, two-component, cold applied, chemically cured, paste-like (THIX), elastomeric joint filler material with high working flexibility and adhesion, resistant to dynamic movements, suitable for heavy traffic conditions. It is resistant to organic and inorganic acids and alkalis, oil, fuel and antifreezes, and many chemicals. It is resistant to ultraviolet rays.
Usage places
Produced for vertical joints, INNOPUR SEAL PU THIX-2K has a wide range of use in indoor and outdoor areas where carrying resistance and elasticity are sought together. With its various color possibilities, it can also respond to requests of visual importance. Highways exposed to all kinds of traffic, bridge connections, stadiums, floors in industrial facilities, warehouses, warehouses, port areas, dam platforms, markets, bazaars, pedestrian areas, sidewalks, runways in airports, parking areas, terminals and ramps, cargo areas and similar open areas or closed fields and roads are some of the places of use. It is also used to provide sealing and adhesion on the manhole cover edges and under the cover on urban roads.

Joint Design
The width of the joints should not be less than four times the prescribed mobility and not less than 6 mm. Up to 16 mm wide, the joint depth should be equal to the width. For joints 16 to 26 mm wide, the filling depth should be 80% of the width. Base material should be used in the joint so that the said depths can be adjusted.
Application
Surface Preparation Joint surfaces must be clean and dry. Oil, grease, bitumen or old joint materials must be thoroughly cleaned. Loose material on the joint edges should be removed, and broken joint edges should be repaired. INNO INNOPUR SEAL PU THIX-2K, like all other polyurethane based materials, is affected by water before it hardens. For this reason, the joints should be dry and the filler should not come into contact with water until chemical hardening occurs.
Base Material
In order to provide the filling depth to be determined according to the joint width, preferably a wick that does not adhere to the filling material should be placed in the joint. Suppositories made of closed-cell polyethylene foam are suitable for this purpose. The diameter of the wicks should be 10-25% more than the joint width, the wick should be placed into the joint by compressing it. Care should be taken not to damage the wicks during insertion. Semi-rigid materials such as polystyrene foam can be used instead of roving in wide joints. In these cases, a polyethylene tape should be placed on the base material to prevent the sealant from sticking.
To mix up
INNOPUR SEAL PU THIX-2K consists of two components called A and B and they are packaged in the appropriate mixing ratio. INNOPUR SEAL PU THIX-2K, A component's box is opened and firstly it is left inside for 2-3 minutes. It is mixed, then the whole of the B component is poured over the A component by opening the box of the A component and the B component is poured on it and it is cooked for 4-5 minutes with a low speed (100/500 rpm) drill and a suitable propeller or pallet. It is mixed with time. In manual mixing, it is necessary to mix for a longer time to ensure a homogeneous mixture. During mixing, the mixer should be moved all over the container and care should be taken not to let air into it.
Application
The amount that can be used within the pot life should be determined by considering the application site and the capacity of the application apparatus. It is necessary to use the mixed material within the pot life. No solvent should be used to thin the putty that has completed its life. No material that has completed the pot life is used.
Limitations
Not recommended for joints narrower than 5 mm. It cannot be used on dirty, oily, bituminous and wet joints. It is important to clean such joints before application to ensure good adhesion. Despite its high carrying resistance, spiked tires, ice chains, and pointy-heeled shoes can cause damage. During the application, the ambient temperature should not be higher than 35°C and not lower than 5°C. If it is necessary to apply in conditions other than these conditions, take the manufacturer's recommendations.
Application Tools
Mixer, applicator gun, applicator, spatula. Equipment to be used must be of professional quality.
Cleaning
Application devices and other devices contaminated by the sealant should be cleaned before the sealant hardens. For this purpose, tools that are first wiped with a cloth or oakum should be cleaned with solvents such as aromatic-based toluene and xylene.
Security
The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) should be carefully read and written by applicators and inspectors.
